Sky Eyes by Sherry Derr-Wille takes the reader to Ninetieth Century Wisconsin. One of the protagonist is Sky Eyes, a blue-eyed white woman raised in an Indian village since birth. Her white mother died during Sky eyes birth. Morning Star, an Indian woman, renamed the baby, Kathryn Clay to Sky Eyes. She raised the infant in her Indian village. Midwifery, a mother’s love, slavery, romance and a suspenseful climax is intertwined making the novel an extremely pleasant adventure.
The plot and subplots carries the reader’s interest from chapter to chapter. The characters are realistic and believable. A well-written romance novel. As an author of mystery/suspense novels. I recommend Sky Eyes to all genre readers.
